SMELLS BEGONE, since 1978
We started with a simple, slightly stubborn idea: a room should not need a stronger smell to stop smelling bad.

A jar, a liner and a lot of patience
The first SMELLS BEGONE jars were poured in Michigan at the end of the 1970s, for basements, bowling alleys and boat cabins that nothing else could fix. The formula was a solid gel that evaporates slowly and carries odor with it. Customers learned to peel the label, lift the liner and leave the jar alone. Forty-odd years later, that ritual has not changed.
What has changed
- Five gel formats instead of one: the 12 oz original, the 15 oz jar, the pet jar, the 14 oz crystals and the gallon tub.
- Essential-oil sprays for bathrooms, linens and rooms that need a reset right now.
- Fragrance-free versions of the gels, gallons and sprays, because some of the best rooms smell of nothing.
- Packs of two and six, so a whole house can run on one rhythm.
What hasn't
Every jar and bottle is still made in the USA, from plant-derived ingredients, by people who would rather tell you a scent is light than pretend it is strong. Our motto has stayed on the label for good reason: odor elimination — not odor masking.
Our seal says Made in the USA. We mean the whole thing: formula, fill and cap.
