Asked at the door
The questions we hear most, answered the way we'd answer a neighbor.
How long does one jar last?
A 15 oz or 12 oz gel jar absorbs for up to 90 days; a gallon tub for up to 120. Warm, dry, moving air uses gel faster; cool, still rooms make it last longer.
How do I know it's finished?
The gel shrinks as it works. When it has dried down to a thin crust at the bottom, it's done.
Why is the scent so light?
Because the jar isn't trying to cover anything. The fragrance is a signal that the gel is working, not the mechanism.
Is it safe around pets and kids?
Our sprays are made to be used around pets and children, and the gels are plant-derived. Still: keep jars where paws and small hands can't tip them or taste them, and never place a gel inside a litter box.
Can I use it in a car, boat or RV?
Yes — the crystals and the 12 oz jar fit consoles and cabinets. In hot parked vehicles the gel works faster, so expect a shorter life.
What's the difference between gel and crystals?
Same idea, different shape. Crystals are beaded gel with more surface area, so they start quickly; the classic gel is a smooth solid that releases more evenly.
Do you make anything unscented?
Yes. Fragrance-free versions exist for the 15 oz gel (2- and 6-packs), the gallon, and the 12 oz spray (single and 2-pack).
Can I refill a jar?
Not at the moment. Once a jar is finished, recycle the container where your local rules allow and open a fresh one.
Where are SMELLS BEGONE products made?
In the USA, every one of them.
